A means to provide hot water and warmth throughout the home, powered normally by gas, electricity or oil. Ready Brek do a simplified version for kids. I'd start with that :)

Three motorbikes, a fridge, a chest freezer, and a shitload of tools, camping equipment and fishing and archery tackle leave little room for laundry. And it's also detached and bloody cold in winter. The clothes would take too long to dry and end up smelling like wet dog.
The only other usable space is the "dining room" which is where I keep all my records, CDs and hifi crap. She can use that provided I can still get at what I need.

Those were the days, walking to school in the pouring rain and they hadn't invented coats that actually kept any warmth in back then, you had to make do with an 'anorak' that let the rain through unhindered. When you got in the school steam would come off you for an hour or so.
Recall at the time rumour had it that the 'glowing' kid lived next door to Windscale.
