It was largely filmed in Burslem in Stoke-on-Trent, the basis for the fictional location of Bursley, and in Llandudno, North Wales. It had mixed reviews but was quite faithful to original novel by Arnold Bennett from way back in 1911.

The Fugitive is perhaps Ford's last great 'art film', a high-minded show of faith, a lovingly crafted paean to his own Catholicism.
It did badly at box office and wasnt liked by critics for most part.

The Major and the Minor, 1942(so getting on for 80 years young) starring Ginger Rogers and Ray Milland and directed by Billy Wilder(his first in USA I think).
