Film made a nice profit and was fairly well recieved by critics overall, but not as well as it should have imo. Also has an excellent soundtrack.
And loosely based on Homer's 'Odyssey'. Agreed about the soundtrack - 'The Soggy Bottom Boys' singing "Man of constant sorrow". :)

THis was the first and technically only film as per this title but it was remade as Heaven Can Wait (1978), starring Warren Beatty,which was also the original play title by Harry Segall in 1938...
