No doubt you needed your bolt cutters to deal with the chain that had been dumped with it :D
The only bike I had as a kid was a racer I got when I was about 9 years old. Company was called "Sun". I don't know if they were popular/good/crap or what. my brother got a Raleigh "Hustler" at the same time. They cost 30 quid each, which in about 1966 will have been a fair bit.
Fettling this one next, Gary Fisher 'Tassajara' from the nineties if I recall. It's incredibly light, my favourite so far.

Did You Know?
The first speeding ticket issued in the United States (handed to the offender in the paper form we’re used to today), was issued to Harry Myers in 1904 for driving a blistering 12 miles per hour down West Third Street in Dayton, Ohio.
Yup, gotta watch for those speed cameras.

Yesterday's royal concert line-up was predictable in its turgid mediocrity. 'Special Guests' Sir Cliff and Alan Titchmarsh no less, were included :). I'm surprised Adele wasn't there (as far as I know), that would have really rounded off the insipidity.
Yes, I am an old grouch. Got the badge and hat!
