govt has scrapped vat on home insulation, solar panels and heat pumps to drive down bills.
The vast majority of people still won't be able to afford them though, and those that can could afford to pay the VAT too.
Plus a lot of properties are unsuitable for heat pumps and solar anyway.
What's required is for water and power to be re-nationalised. Cutting out all the middlemen from dipping their beaks would reduce costs for everyone.
Totally agree! Privatisation was intended to offer competition; but instead it just favours the shareholders at best and encourages the formation of cartels at worse.Quote:
