Directed by John Sturges. It made a decent profit too. Loosely based on the true great escape.

Not too shabby war film of day, using much the same cast as Casablanca.

A fabulous film that spawned a legend many more to come. This one is the best and Arnie is the baddie.. after this he became the goodie. Film made a huge profit as well.
Definitely the best. Also had a dark slightly indie feel to it despite having a big budget I expect.

It's a typical piece of Curtis land: an easy to watch frothy confection, with a near vomit-inducing saccharine ending. It was the same with 'Four Weddings ...' and with 'Love Actually'. Maybe the presence of Hugh Grant in all three has something to do with it.Quote:
