Yep they obviously don't want the Tannoys to go ;)

If I had room for them I'd take them in a flash.... maybe I should buy them and hope my room grows a bit
This Decca Professional arm is attracting some serious bidding. It was at £57 this morning. I was tempted, but I'm not paying hundreds for one.

JVC SX-3 II speakers. They look interesting.
I've tried to purchase them a couple of weeks ago but seller refuses to pack even with my offer to arrange my own courier. If anyone wants to indulge they would be a great xmas pressie for me :)
so called ISIS speakers

Now where is that bullshit button!

Ooops! Thought that was for a pair
Yes it's confusing that they sell often in 1,s and sometimes in pairs. Got a chance of some tannoy a too so need to have a check and see what's best for me . It's for a small footprint set up upstairs with a pi
Sounds like a good idea mate. :)
Entering the realms of fantasy? Goodmans Maxim speakers £775! I don't care if they are mint and boxed. They are not worth it!

Last pair I had cost me £6 from a boot sale.
Odd that the photos don't show these with the grilles off. I bet the vinyl surrounds on the drivers have distorted, as they regularly do on old Goodmans speaker units (and EMI ones), regardless of use. They can even detach from the cone or chassis due to shrinkage.
Two items ending shortly.
A pair of Tannoy Ascots. Are these a sleeper? Will they attract a bit of mad bidding right at the end? I bought a pair last year for £200. They're a lot better than I expected.

A Mission 774 arm. I reckon this will fly at the end, they are beginning to fetch serious money these days. Fortunately, I don't need it as I'm well stocked up on these. :)

I'd buy that arm if I was working, for spares. Folks, these arms are serious bargains, even at the £400 I paid for the one I use at the moment. Somebody buy it!
No work again Ali? Not a good time of year for it. Not that there is a good time. Hope you get sorted quickly.
Thanks mate, though I've not been working since September when I had a heart attack.
the one i had was in red too.
Mine's red also, and is supposed to be a rare early version with solid counterweight.
Yep, that be an explanation Grant, cheers, I'll look into it. Would certainly explain it, given I've worked in high voltage substations for almost 30 years now.
Becoming silly money tbh. not long ago if one sold for 200 it was a big deal. Good arms of course but funnily the 3009 has not risen; possibly as there are more around, but may be the next riser in a few years.
Someone told me the other day a Mayware formula IV went for £400 ?
Not that long ago they were about £150. Very happy with mine !
( ps. Ali - all the best on your recovery mate - didn't know ! )
Yes it seems even the low mass jobbies that went out of fashion for a bit are getting pricey now - 's vintage syndrome again .... there was a bloke on the Lenco forum asking a grand or something silly for an SME III saying it was the best arm in the world or some nonsense. Somehow I don't think it sold ....
Yes sorry to hear about the heart trouble Ali ... I had a bit of bother myself a year or so back, lots of chest pain and 4 stents in the end, they told me one artery was 95% blocked, the other 99% and I was weeks away from a major MI ... but got through it. The EMF connection is worrying though ....
Would this Valve CDP be any good guys ? (I'm not after it, just curious) :) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDIOPHILE...-/321936121402
Thanks Mark and Tom!
Anyone heard of Dean speakers?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rare-Briti...-/272071038430
They look interesting.
Heard of them, but not heard them:lol: Should be quite good for that price I'd think
Looks in nice shape- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3018276819...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
