After the P.a company Electrovoice EV who make some of the worlds biggest Concert riggs.
My first experience of HiFi was in a record shop above Millets in Chester aged about 14. They had a pair of Crystals which sounded amazing. I was then hooked for ever.
I sell and support Apple computers so hence my user name
Simply put...My surname is Moon...and I'm as mad as a hatter on speed
Erm, good for you, Moon
Well. I'm a man...and a few years ago I built a Westfield kit car, often referred to as a Westy.
From my parents who had a poor imagination for names.:eyebrows:
When I was a nipper my Dad called me.....Sparrow. When I was a teen he called me a lot worse..
I am John Kenneth Wynn but everyone calls me Ken.
K.Wynn say it fast = Qwin
most of the variations of my name were taken when I was starting a business so settled on Qwin and have used it for various things ever since.
been using gixer at the front of most forum names now for years, for those bikers then you know the infamous Suzuki GSXR = gixer or gixxer etc etc and was one of my best and longest owned bikes a 750 full remapped and hifi I think is obvious so there goes gixerhifi :-)

Very nice, Andre, and Chord equipment too :)
I like that I get asked questions like this!
In a 1970's punk-jazz band we all took stage names. I was Dual Space Orphans.
As a result, my home recording studios have always been Studio Dual.
.mus is a reference to one of my early encounters with electronic music - early 90s video games! As a youngster I spent a hours playing video games which would be considered incredibly primitive by today's standards, but which completely bewitched me me at the time. My enjoyment was often bound up with enjoyment of the music - complex, beat driven, midi compositions, awash with 8bit digital timbres that, at the time, I'd not heard in any other kind of music. When I was a little older, I fiddled around composing very basic midi pieces, that I would insert into games, and ".mus" was the file extension for the resulting files.
Some bugger took LarryB
My wife is Aussie 1 as she is from here. I am just an American living in Australia and going home to Florida in 6 months after a long stay here out on the edge of the outback.
I should stay where you are if I were you, Paul ;)
Our 6yr old needs some therapy he can't get in Australia unfortunately.
Oh, sorry to hear that. I hope you find what you need for him.
Some great user names here.....I'm jealous as mine's a bit boring...... wished I'd called myself Wizzywanpoopoodada now......but its too late.....:(
My parents has the foresight to give me a user name at birth
- Richard Kimber
:rfl:
It looks vaguely like Persian script, Martin.
Der - I have known AK of Pink Triangle for many years, and been involved with the company a bit on a few occasions, including being MD for a year.
My Dad used to worry about my sexuality when I was so enthusiastic about PT so it teases him a bit
And my wife who has no worries about my sexuality finds it amusing for entirely other reasons. :)
Hi,
Mine is from an ancient Viz comic, in their spoof Reader's letters page 'Letterbox'. The letter went something like this: "I sent my husband out to the shops to get a loaf of bread and a packet of biscuits. Imagine my surprise when he returned with a boaf of lread and a backet of piscuits!!" Very silly I know, but I like a bit of surreal humour and wordplay.
Although not quite my favourite Hawkwind album it works better for me than ' Hall Of The Mountain Grill' ;)
Well, you could have called yourself 'Do-Re-Mi...'
Well, in case you hadnt already guessed, Im named after the jazz tune.
This is usually credited to Dave Brubeck, but was in fact written by the alto sax player from the Brubeck quartet, Paul Desmond.
It takes its name from its time signature, in that it is in 5 / 4 time. ie five beats to a bar.
Desmond says that he got the rhythmic idea when he was in a casino playing the slot machines. One of the machines was playing the "groove" which he pinched.
Had a guy who worked for me in the UK called Kumar of Hindu Indian extraction and he used to call me Stupinder...name stuck thereafter.
So a brief explanation...
I used to be church_of_hawkwind but Marco has kindly changed my username to ceejaydee which is a phonetic spelling of my initials.
Can't be simpler than that eh ;)
Why did you want to change your Forum name?
My username is NINANINA....
We had a boat, a trimaran, of 30' with a 22' beam which was called Nina, so my username is NINANINA...
Not that it was the best boat we ever had but it was the one with the best name, kind of !!...
We have had MUCH better sailors since Nina but it is the one in which we probably did the most traveling... we went to Alderney and Cherbourg many a times in her... a tremendously stable platform but certainly NOT the best sailor at all.... the best sailor goes to the Cutlass 27 and Nicholson 32 we subsequently owned
BUT the name has always stuck so NINANINA it is....
hermit by name
hermit by nature
I was called Gordon after my uncle and Steadman after Gordon.
(sorry Hoffnung)
As I like a wide and varied spectrum of music I didn't want my username to make others think that I may have any pre-conceived ideas about styles or influence attitudes towards me in a negative way.
Also it ties in with my usernames on other fora providing personal continuity and one less to remember ;)
I understand Chris, but i liked your old name as it made me dig out church of Hawkwind from the racks of LP's.
Free beer for the first person to work this one out.
