Runaway Train was originally the child of Akira Kurosawa, and he wrote much of the script but he couldnt find the backing to make it at time(around 1967)
Film was well recieved by critics(and me;)) but failed at the box office oddly.. maybe it was the 80's and the time of feel good.
still its a bit of a classic and was nominated for 3 academy awards. oddy none were for Voight or Roberts who were amazing.
A brutal portrayal of prisoners, and as such to many, not what 80's new rich folk wanted i guess

Another good film, gripping with an acceptable literary ending. But IMO Voight overacts.

Dark Passage, 1947, Directed by Delmer Daves and starring Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall.

Another very good Bogey film.. this time he is a convict on the run and with a new face. Interestingly they shot the first part of film using subjective camera, so you dont see his original face.
