Documentary made up mostly of interviews with survivors and the American troops who liberated them. Much prefer this sort of treatment to the recent trend of having some celeb going there to 'learn about it' and telling you how they feel.

Manhunter any day. Ive got them all from a long time ago when i was more into this genre. I dont watch this now, but manhunter was better.. similar to the first terminator film when Arnie was the baddie...much better :) Thats not to say SoL is bad, coz its a very good film. Tora! Tora! Tora! traces the build-up to Pearl Harbor by examining the events and developments on both sides. The film is even-handed, telling both sides' stories. By switching seamlessly, the Japanese and American versions are both very easy to feel. it is fairly well done i have to say and is still one of my fav war films, all the more so as no "real" stars were used.
Picture quality is very good for a 70s film into dvd, and the steel box packaging beautiful.
Man I've got so many to catch up on. I pretty much have a rule that I always watch anything new that is war, gangsters or sci fi so I'll deffo get round to it. Only saw 'Prometheus' a couple of months ago. That's how far behind I am. Recall you said that was a good one, you were right.Quote:

Legion (Fox) Watching on catch up.
Weird, surreal not an easy watch. Legion is about Legion (David Haller) estranged son of Charles Xavier (Professor X), and David is one of the most powerful and dangerous mutants in the universe the X Men exist in. Only problem is Legion's grasp of reality is seriously warped and we watch this series through his warped mind's view. Frankly this makes it hard for us to know what is reality and what is part of his delusional craziness.
Interesting series so far.
Last night it was Neil Simon's California Suite (1978) Starred Alan Alda, Jane fonda, Walter Matteau, Elaine May, Michael caine, Maggie Smith(who wone an Oscar), Bill Cosby and Richard pryor that I remember. Excellent writing and acting that holds the attention but somehow just misses being great.

Super fim in my view and although the 1978 film of same name starring Warren beatty is quirkey and good too, it is actually a remake of "here comes mr jordan"(1941), and I prefer this.

The 6th Day (2000) stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tony Goldwyn, Michael Rapaport and Robert Duvall. Didn't do particularly well this although I quite like it. Arnie got a huge sum for making it so he was happy. Think it about broke even.

Some cooking show, not really watching it, just came on after 'University Challenge'.
You never see the aftermath in these cooking shows. I mean she is only cooking bacon eggs and potato and she has used about 5 plates half a dozen bowl and 2 tea-towels. She wants to drain the water out the chopped potato so she puts it in a tea towel and squeezes it out into a clean bowl! Why not just do it over the sink FFS?
You can tell it isn't her doing the washing-up. She's off to the bar as soon as they say cut and some poor bastard is left with cleaning up the bloody shambles she's created.

i rarely watch actual tv.. Ive stuff on prime and my digital library. Then my big dvd library too. When tv watching it tends to be yesterday. I occasionally copy a film to watch later from a film channel like film 4 or Sony now.
