Martin, you may well be correct, but I'm not sure why having holes in the back would render these worthless. That was a common way of tuning the bass end of things at one time. I've found some interesting drive units in old school, community centre and church hall speakers in the past.Quote:

It's a funny one really. It's apparently solidly built and looks good but it's small and actually came as part of Kenwood's top midi system of the day. I've heard some people say they're an undiscovered gem and others say that the arm is rubbish and they're not much good. They seem to fetch decent prices, though, so who knows?Quote:

These look intriguing and appear to be very similar to Isonoe feet for a lot less dosh.
They need a threaded stud to fit the Technics, not a threaded hole. They may do the job, but the Isonoes are superb at just twice the price. It's a risky punt.
What has really piqued my interest in this listing Martin is that the chap has developed a magnetically suspended isolation system that will be available from Christmas. I have sent him a message asking if he is considering producing a version for SL12XX's. If so I am willing to give them a try as they could be very good.

Set up right, varying the magnetic field could potentially change the amount of damping. I guess the question is are we looking to get it rigid or doe we want some flexibility for damping effect??? Also, do we want such strong magnetic fields near the equipment???
Personally, I think the damping combined with isolation of the Isonoes is just right for the mass of the Technics. I think a magnetic system could have potential, but it would have to go some to beat the Isonoes on performance and, ultimately, sound quality.
I'm waiting for Arthur to finish production of his 'Kinetic Cradle', which I think could be a very interesting and highly effective solution to vibration management :)
