As expected after the usual Tuesday hike, it's back down again, this time to 104. I don't think it's ever gone above 200 in the whole of this wave, and hospitalisations are still on a downward trend, so at this point in time things seem well under control:)
Marco.
Deaths up here are 10/11 but infections are up.
Infections announced by the BBC appear to be increasing by approx 1K per day.
up a bit in scotland again. 1500 or so.. 8 deaths too. e lothian seems to be current hotspot. my area was up at 4th for a good while but we are down to 14th thankfully.
Forget about infections and cases (as unless they turn into something serious, are largely insignificant), and concentrate instead on DEATH STATS and HOSPITALISATIONS... Down again to 94, as are hospitalisations: https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/
Focus on the POSITIVES, folks!!:)

The greater the cases, the more I worry. As someone with no immunity, I rely on there being few people around to pass it on to me.
The more people I see with masks, as another of the blessed with no immune system, the more I see people transferring anything that may have collected on their masks, onto their hands and then anything they subsequently touch.

I totally get that, Dave, and sympathise. The question is though, how long will you continue to worry, to the extent that it's controlling your life and stopping you from living life normally? Infection rates could continue to be high(ish) for a long time yet, vaccines or no vaccines, until the pandemic eventually peters out.
So yes, cocooning yourself from society may help keep you alive (if you really feel threatened by being exposed to this virus), but in the process are you really LIVING or merely existing - and are you happy settling for a rather dull existence as your future...?
That's not a 'life' worth living mate, certainly in my view anyway.
Marco,
Good point, Gary:)
Anyway, in terms of the daily update, we're still hovering around the 100 mark, with hospitalisations continuing on a downward trend: https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/
