I stopped listening to John Martyn (RIP) once he started to stop singing and just use his voice as an instrument. Neither folk nor jazz, but somewhere in the middle.
The last album I heard was 'Glasgow Walker' (2000) and didn’t think much of it.

Worth a listen if you don’t know it or them. Although they formed in the 80's and have had a couple of UK 'hit' Albums, they are still a bit under the radar for many.

Used to see Chuck a lot at The Railway in Winchester, he was good friends with the promoter Oliver Gray - Oliver knew everybody!
