The dream sequence to me does not work, it looks tacked on; which it is and as such does not fit well with the original release. Once again though we have the issue of remodelling work after the original is ingrained in the public concious and while it can make something poor better I for one love the original release and think it works well as was.

I think we will have to agree to differ on this one.

My ideal version would be the Director's cut (including the dream sequence) with the Chandler-esque voice-over.

The theatre version is unsatisfactory. The 'happy ending', with Deckard and Rachael setting off 'into the sunset', or rather off to the New Worlds, is contrived and was imposed on the director by the studio after screening to focus groups.

Deckard was a specialised replicant and the dream sequence/origami unicorn reference makes it clear.

Last night watched '3:10 to Yuma' starring Russell Crowe & Christian Bale. Not a bad little western, Crowe is good as always. He really does remind me of Richard Burton in his acting style, sounds a bit like him too when he is doing a British accent.

Avatar - Collector's Edition [Blu-ray]

The additional scenes in this edition (170 mins) really help with the back-story and furthered my enjoyment immensely. The HD image quality is quite stunning, the picture looking vibrant and three-dimensional without any 3D bollox. Very enjoyable.

It makes a whole lot more sense as things that are said have a background you can refer to. This should have been the original release!

Wim Wender's Paris: Texas.

Nearly three hours long and you have to wait for the only really interesting part occuring in the last 50 minutes!

I like the Directors Cut version, it works much better than the original cinema release.
