Have you seen 'Blott on the Landscape'? John Suchet was excellent as Blott, as were George Cole and Geraldine James.

Blott on the Landscape was great. I used to watch it with my mum, early 80's I think, she laughed all through it. She had a bit of a 'thing' for Suchet though, strange woman. I've read quite a few Tom Sharpe novels, wicked humour.

Yes I did say I would like to see it - and I will when either I find a video disc of it, or it's shown on TV.

(Apropos "ancient pish", some of us are more interested in a good story or plotline and acting, than on action, CGI and special effects.)

Yes, I like a good story too, but I also like being entertained by 'action'. Films that have too much 'talking' in them, without much action, just bore me to tears. And as for comedies, I only really 'do' the black variety. 'Family friendly' stuff just turns me off, as it's almost always too much of a cheese fest!:doh:

Indeed, lol... DVDs are rather old hat now, mate. You really want Blurays - and if you don't have a bluray player, then get one. Blurays, especially the 4k variety, make DVDs look nearly as soft and fuzzy as tape!;)

I do have a Blu ray player Marco - it's a Sony machine. Had it for years. :ner:

Excellent, so why would you bother buying inferior DVDs? Get the bloody Blurays instead!:ner::ner:

Any decent film now is released on Bluray - and the 4K versions are the cream of the crop.
