I must admit, I don’t really see the point of them...

I used Goofbay for years . The point is , if you fancy an item and no one has bid , or someone has bid to keep in front of the bids, then keeping your powder dry by waiting till the last few seconds (which you could do by being present at the finish too , but you may be tempted to overbid)
In other words ,I have looked at items and set myself a maximum price , placed the sniper bid days before and very often forget about it !
I have many times been very pleased to see I have won ! Very embarrasingly reasonably too!
It stops you getting into a bidding war really , thats all ,IMO
I also used Goofbay until they decided to make folk pay for the service.
“In very good condition”.
Actually, no - I’m pretty sure it isn’t!

You're just being too picky about it!
Not quite eBay - Gumtree actually - but I'm so chuffed I thought I'd share on here :)

Picked up this Trio deck for a paltry £40 yesterday.
Heard it playing first - more than decent, through an early 90s NAD integrated and a pair of Castle bookshelves - and the owner actually seemed a bit reluctant, explaining he'd just bought a new Rega but there wasn't much between them.
It's got a Grado GT fitted and everything looks tickety-boo, apart from needing a good scrub.

It's actually for my gf as she's currently got one of those nasty Crossley suitcase jobs
I'm gonna get an amp and speakers and set it all up for Christmas :)
Looks good Paul. Is it going to be a surprise Christmas present for your girlfriend?
(BTW - don't store your records face down like that. Always store them vertically.)
Nice one, Paul. That's a lovely find, and a real bargain at £40. No wonder you're chuffed! Enjoy
