some "old school speakers" on gumtree https://www.gumtree.com/p/speakers/o...ers/1132307832
Check out this JBE turntable:

Great thing, and very sensibly priced. Not sure how easy it'd be to fix though, if something crucial to the functioning of the control circuitry went pop....
Marco.
Possibly, Geoff. The fear of possibly ending up with an expensive ornament is always what puts me off of buying vintage D/Ds. Idlers and belt-drives are a different proposition entirely.
Marco.
Marco, don't be scared -as Geoff says the motor was used in many different models and it would be easy to find a replacement should it go bang. However I have to say I've never known one to fail and I've owned many!
On the other hand, it's not all that great a motor, although the deck looks fab. I wouldn't pay £550 for it, personally.
But it does come with an SME 3009 arm, worth about £200. So that makes ~£350 for the deck alone.
Neil was selling his slate series 3 jbe which i liked.
Is he nuts? Early Goodmans Axiette driver. £275!! For one?

Nice minty SL-120 with SME3009 and Micro-Acoustics cartridge - should sound fab: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Technics-SL-1...item4aeed1212d
US mains, though...
Marco.
Another dead and irreparable Rega R200 arm. This guy wants £125 for it! That's more than a working one is worth (not that there are many left).

Rotel RP1500 just posted on Gumtree for £10 for anyone close to Melksham

Anyone fancy a Yamaha CT-7000 FM tuner for £350?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-CT7.../252087357575?
Not a bad price if you ask me.
A pair of Tannoy System 10 DMT at a very reasonable £550 in London. These sound superb. I've heard them many times.

Tannoy 603's with original stands..delivered for £58.99.........got to be a bargain for someone...

£5k! Got to be joking.
Yeah I understand that but they are probably twice what they are worth on a normal market at best tbh. I have uckily found the beauty of full range drivers that produce music the way I like nit and cost a fraction of what multi driver speakers cost. A bit of work is required but the end result is superb imo. Some of these old drivers are fabulous and a audio bargain
Yes Grant I know they are probably overpriced but they do sound fantastic... once heard never forgotten...
I used Lowther full range drivers for a while and they sounded absolutely superb for certain music types, but not for all... what the Lowthers did they did very well indeed, and they did have a certain 'magic' about them but they were fraught with problems... which made me sell them in the end.. just to much of a finicky product to live with
I also made a pair of Voigt pipe speakers using some Fostex full range drivers which were great fun to make and to listen to..... however I still moved them on and I went back to multi driver's....
Rare and pretty good value...

Just bagged a nice pair of matched NOS 1953-vintage Russian 6N8S (6SN7) tubes, for my Copper amp: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2218811233...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/540/nfOLf3.jpg
These Russian Melz factory, military spec tubes are amongst the best sounding 6SN7 types available, and still reasonably priced, compared with NOS Brimars and Tung-Sols! :)
Marco.
Rather nice Sugden Masterclass SPA-4- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sugden-Mas...item419ca25c5e

The idiot selling those diddy little speakerettes at that price needs a good slap.
Marco.
Already has 1 bid Geoff.... :stalks:
Nice looker in North East:

...same seller also selling Spendor set:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pair-Spend...item35f19d68ae
Indeed, but cock-jockeys, such as the seller in question, contribute to feeding the pathetic frenzy for these grossly overpriced little speakerettes, and help keep the prices at such lunatic levels! :mental:
Marco.
Not the sellers fault. What if he needs the money for an operation or something? Pay his mortgage areas or get kicked out? If that is what they are fetching he is perfectly entitled to ask it. I'd do the same.
Would think they are more collectors items than anything tbh. Obviously as speakers they aint worth anywhere near the price but if someone wants a rarity they will pay. thats why folk pay millions for crappy pictures
