Thanks guys, but I'm not particularly sorry about the 'loss'. Over my lifetime, I had only low expectations, which he always failed to reach. He was always, for want of a better word, a shithead.
I've just come off a one hour phone conversation with my sister, who's dealing with his affairs, and what she told me has me nearly as shocked as she is - to say he was living a double life would be an understatement.
The funeral will be interesting, can't wait for that. Gonna be a proper scrap I reckon.

We’re staying in Drymen near Loch Lomond, had sister-in-law’s wedding in Glasgow yesterday, weather was surprisingly good - but expectations met today as it has chucked it down and continues to do so, 16c. Tomorrow a little better according to the forecast so going to do some fishing with Will, no doubt the girls will find some shops and a tea room!
Grass looks great, Marco, hoping mine will have had a bit of a watering for when we get back.

We are literally next door to the Buchanan Arms, but going to the Clachan Inn for dinner this evening - https://www.clachaninndrymen.co.uk/ - looks nice, and good reviews. Still haven't had enough rain here. The front lawn has yet to recover. :(
16C now, will reach 23C later today. No rain forecast, so the lawns have only partially recovered.
Rained overnight, and showers forecast for all day with a bit of thunder chucked in. Back to normal bank holiday weather then.
That's quite an expanse of lawn, what kind of mower have you got? I'd want a sit-on mower for that. Nicely done though, you can do ours if you want :) What are those structures for, and why have they got whippets sat on top of them? I thought that would be more of a Yorkshire thing.Quote:

The rear lawn of my parent's place was a little under a quarter of an acre in size. My father was thinking of getting a 'sit on' mower, but as there were several small trees there, he employed a gardener instead.
