Alien: Covenant (2017)

latest of the 'Alien' prequels. The last one was okay and this one is just 'okay' as well. Has its moments but as with a lot of similar films does rely on people doing stupid things to advance the plot.
For example the pilot is told to keep the ship secure after landing 'as per protocol' - because we all know what happened in 'Aliens' don't we? But does the pilot do that? No, she's pissing about under the ship, or wandering around about 100 yards away from it, all the time the ramp is down and the door is wide open. Next thing you know there's an alien on the ship. Well what a surprise that is.
And going back into 'hyper-sleep' at the end. Okay it's going to take 8 more years to get to the destination planet but personally I'd be spending those 8 years locked in my cabin with an AK47 and a case of hand grenades.
Despite the goody and baddy androids looking identical no-one suspects in the slightest that it might be the baddy android who makes it back to the ship, even though he's been out of sight and communication with the rest of the crew for ages. Really? Yes really. Just seal me back into my hypersleep pod even though it wasn't that long ago that I saw my husband burn to death in one.
The first one is a classic horror film. The second one is classic action film with some great dialogue. 'It's game over man! Game over!'. But this is neither fish nor fowl.
