Well, I took it into my trusty (specialist) mechanic, who's an expert in remapping BMWs, Mercs, Audis, etc, and told him to 'max-out' the car's engine performance, with a view to it going on the track, but whilst still retaining its practicality as a road car (so nothing too mental was done). He carried out a 'Stage 2' sports remap [updating the first stage that was done last year], the program for which was written by a mate of his who does work for NASCAR, tweaking the torque curves (psi) and doing some stuff with the injectors. Anyway, after which he ran the car through his dyno, and it was producing 510lb ft of torque and 370bhp. Remember that this is 'only' a 3.5L V6 diesel saloon, not a 'muscle car'.
He also carried out a speed test, and the car achieved 0-60mph in 4.9 secs. Not bad, I thought, for what isn't ostensibly a sports car... The most relevant figure there is the torque, which is pretty brutal - and you can *feel* it, as your cheeks move when you accelerate hard!! :eyebrows::D
It's truly an utter riot now to drive, and even the engine note has changed to a deeper 'growl', and a sort of 'throaty whine' when you give it some! Lots of fun :cool:

Dunno, mate, I'd have to ask him, as he's got the printout. Should've thought of that. I'll pop him and email and find out. Decent figures though, I thought :)

very.. good bit of bottom end torue it should have but thats impressive. A lot of big engines dont give that... An Aston-Martin Vanquish 5.9 V12 RS does about the same ft/lb at about 5000 revs... got a lot more bhp of course
