The question was asked Ali why anybody would build a rocket if not to go to the moon. I'm just suggesting there's plenty of reasons to build a rocket, far more compelling than going to the moon.
Well yes, but I believe that was in reference to the Saturn 5 in particular. Did you have a look at it over there?

doubt that technology was available at that time anyways ... I dont doubt that there are people in the us service that could make plans for all the conspiricy theorys to happen but actually making a plan happen and keeping it secret is nigh on impossible even in a closed state like the former USSR far less the USA. Hell, they couldnt keep anything like that secret, especially in those times....far less carry it out(aka the bay of pigs):)

When we were at Kennedy my wife had her smartphone in her hand, taking pics and posting things to social media. I pointed out to her as we were standing next to a command module how little processing power they had compared to what she was holding. Its mind-blowing all the same.Quote:
