Thanks, James. :)

Ah, good ol' Dave, you can always be relied on ....
Deaf as a deaf thing, arn'tcha?! - Martin Eisenach was here a couple of days ago, and went back to his Quad 63 etc system with much more than a hint of sadness saying his system sounded like watching TV rather than being at the event itself compared to mine. He went out of his way to particularly praise the treble as being oh-so natural.
If you'd actually heard my system I would have more respect for your views.
Then again - Krell sound is very dependent on speaker load, ime - give them an easy time and they can indeed sound etched and unnatural - give them something to chew on and it's a very different story. Maybe you just lack the necessary breadth of experience.
... and this amp is well over a decade old - if it's that fragile, why hasn't it died yet, eh?

Yeah, Dave, reign in the neggy vibes. please. There's nothing more annoying than someone pissing on your parade when you're over the moon listening to a new addition to your system. Cheers!
Marco.
Superb amp, I always aspired to own one but never had a room or system large enough to explore its full potential. My main memory was a colleague who used this model with Martin Logan Aerius, a joy to listen to and extremely revealing.
New speaker cables, too. Arrived yesterday.
Never heard of them before - but looked tempting on eBay auction. :eyebrows:
Silent Wire LS6 - made in Germany. Sort of a multiple solid-core design!
Very detailed and focussed; lovely soundstage, grain is noticeable by its absence, treble is hi-rez but very pure.
I like these a lot.
I should be getting RobsterD's VdH The Wind speaker cables next week - that'll be an interesting comparison.
My guess is that I'll go bi-wire, with the Silent Wire on mids and treble, and VdH on the bass, where they are said to excel.
We'll see! :)
It looks as if posts have been removed? Let me confirm Jerry that ALL you need to do is compare one of these AV series amps with an FPB model as I suggested. THEN you can accuse me of crapola if you wish. By the way, I'm talking about the GEAR, not your good self.
Nope, not me, guv.
-- now how does that Ignore feature work?
