Car (or bike) Chat!

Lol... You should ask folk who've been in the car with me that question! I'm a fast, fearless (but careful, when necessary) bastard, behind the wheel. Nothing really phases me, and I enjoy taking things to the limits ;)

Would still like to race other daftees there too though, and test my car (and me) against their car (and them)....

If there's anybody there with a decent Caterham or even maybe a Mclaren, you'll have your work cut out! :D

you'll get a wrap on the knuckles if you pass anywhere other than the straights (and with consent).

def recommend instruction at oulton - and spare knickers...

You are not supposed to race on a track day. Timing of laps is also frowned upon.
Some organisers will frown upon this very quickly and you will be Black flagged and sent home.

Just bear in mind that you are likely to be on track with some serious machinery, and quick drivers used to track days. You may find that you have a lot to learn and that your car is not as good as you think it is on a track.
It all depends on who and what you are on track with. Your best approach is to go there to have fun. Forget about pushing the limits on your first day as it usually ends in tears.

I'd also be really wary of brakes and tyres getting hot in anything 1250kgs+. if it starts moving about, have a cool down lap and come in.

It's a shame I am still not in the UK. It would be interesting to see the Brabster on track.

Very good and sensible advice, Kevin. I certainly won't be going there to act like an arse and think I know it all, which I certainly don't. I'll be there to observe the rules and enjoy the day, *but*, once I'm happy with what's required, I intend to get stuck right in and push things to the limits of the rules and my ability (together with the car's) :)

I am super-competitive though, in these situations [a calculated risk-taker], and like to win races [won quite a few already on normal roads, when quiet, against some 'interesting' cars, lol], so once I became more experienced with taking the Brabster on a track, increasing my abilities in that respect, and if there was the opportunity to race other people, I'd be RIGHT up for that!! :cool:

I guess I could always get a mate to video it on an iPad, pop it on YouTube and link to it here... It won't be happening until August, anyway, as it'll be a birthday present from Del :)
