I'll be happy if people stop commencing conversation with "So" and in some cases, ending it with "innit"!

Spoken language evolves and changes all the time; sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. At the moment it is changing for the worse: by politicians, by journalists and those fond of neologisms ( such as "-gate" to denote an embarrassing situation - an American import). The 'street speak' of the younger generation is just one manifestation of language evolution.
One particular manifestation of this, which I find annoying is the 'upward inflection' - making every sentence sound like a question.
