Even just making a sandwich yourself, from ingredients you could've bought last time you went shopping [and which would've been a damn sight better and cheaper] should've been possible. If you've got time to make a cup of tea and drink it, you've got time to make a sandwich!:ner:

Jeez, even when my business was at its busiest, and I was working until stupid o'clock in the morning, and out on the road all day for 6/7 days a week, I still ensured that I left the house with a decent packed lunch, and *made* time to eat it!;)

That's true but going the shop means I do get a bit of fresh air and exercise. And there's no washing up.

Plus from next year I'm going to be living on bacon sarnies and that anyway.

never made myself a packed lunch in my life. The way I see it your working so you've got the money to pay someone else to make the food. Otherwise what's the point?

Or to be precise... To ENSURE that *I* was in control of what went in my mouth, and that I didn't have to rely on eating shite!! Essentially junk food...

And in those days, I had NO time to 'dine out'. It was grab something to eat quickly in the car, in between appointments, and like it. But at least I knew I was eating something decent, which I enjoyed and wasn't paying through the nose for:)

When I was flying high in the heady cut throat world of local government facilities management lunch was for wimps. Used to keep the odd morsel in the office fridge to graze on through the day and had the odd mug shot or pot noodle :eek:

Cooking a meal after a long day at work was my wind down time, glass of wine, some toons and chopping onions...

I hardly ever eat junk food. Might have Kentucky once a month, maybe a pizza a couple of times a month. I like a bit of chocolate late night but only a few squares.

I totally *get* that last bit, if you're single (as cooking can be therapeutic), but otherwise that's what a wife is for!;)

In those days, Del worked 9-5 in a fairly undemanding office job, whereas I was out until all hours, so it was only right that she had a meal ready for me when I got home:)

As for 'lunch is for wimps' lol, well that was always the joke, but not when you're Italian. Good food matters! If I didn't have a nice Parma ham sandwich, made with crusty bread from the local deli, or some such, I'd have been a VERY unhappy bunny!:D

Besides, it's bad for you not to eat, and also unproductive, as your body needs proper fuel to sustain it, Maybe this is why I'm a healthy bastard now, with no ailments to speak of, simply because I looked after myself properly when I was younger?;)

When instead, you could use the time to teach yourself to cook, or at least cook proper homemade food, such as you've mentioned before, pasta, rice, etc. No need to live off of bacon sarnies, daftee...
