Yups.... Thing is, I was getting more than acceptably good results before, so goodness knows what it'll be capable of now...
Will be nice to have it to play with over Christmas:)

Auto-reverse, by jove!:respect:
Does it still work, i.e. play tapes - when was the last time you tried it?:)
Marco.
I think I last used it about 15 years ago, just to see if it worked and it did. I bought it in about 1987 from Tandy in Lord Street, Liverpool (don't look for it etc).
It was about £70 so a lot of money back then. In typical Tandy style it didn't come with headphones, you had to buy them separately.
Practically never used it. I bet it doesn't have even 20 hours on the heads.
Lol - the Realistic brand was quality, and represented quite a few products. Some of the speakers were also pretty good. So do you have some headphones you can plug into it? If so, I'll make you up a couple of tapes, just for a larf!:D
Btw, do you remember Beaver Hi-Fi in Liverpool? I used to go there in the early-to-mid 2000s. Del's mum knew the owners.
Marco.
The only headphones I have is the headset I use for phone calls. It's USB so not compatible.
I do recall Beaver Radio, I think they changed it to Beaver Hi-fi in the 1980s sometime. Nearly bought my first system there but they were too pricey. Went to Richer Sounds instead.
I did hear a very good system demoed there once, with the B&W Matrix floorstanders and I think JVC electronics. That had big effect on my fragile hi-fi mind.
Yeah, that's the place. They used to sell some good kit and the staff were always knowledgeable - a proper old school dealership:)
If you want, I'll send you a pair of headphones, along with the tapes (say of some Dan/Zep/ZZ Top albums, and a bit Sinatra thrown in for good measure), and you can relive the 80s:D
Marco.
It's a kind offer but you know what will happen if you do that.
I wasn't much for 1980s music at the time but now it sounds like genius compared to the current efforts.
The fashions were bad though, I give you that.
