They have good quality grills :eyebrows: I've been really fussy over grills since owning Magnum K's... They have quilting between the plywood frame & cloth it looks a lot classier IMO.
I know, I'm sad

Could be worth watching for the Quads alone http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1811647555...84.m1423.l2649
You'll get £50 back selling the cdp & speakers so that's £50 off the final price straight away...
I wonder if he'd just post out the quad stuuf! Thats an Early 'FM-4' with Dins..
I have a Quad '33'/'303' & a pair of '50E', but you can never have too many as they say :eyebrows:
I'm a bit of a "Quadaholic": I have two 303s, two 405s, two pairs of 50Es, a 520f plus 33 and 44 preamps. Not to mention the AM1, AM3, FM2, FM3 and FM4 tuners. (And of course the (still) divine '57 ESL speakers.)
The 50Es are 'bomb proof' and can be used with a whole range of speaker impedances. Most importantly, they can be adapted to have a 600Ohm balanced input.
Soundwise, they're not too bad, but given they were designed in the mid '60s, are hardly state-of-the-art these days.
Yeh i prefer the '303' tho.. I think i read somewhere British Rail used '50' power amps for the Tannoys on stations, so you can imagine a lot have been skipped.. My 50's were out of an old theatre in London somewhere, at least that's what i was told..
