I know, applying 1970s safety standards (I know because I was there) to 21st century applications. It's an outrage!
Never heard of Laufey before Alex - very interesting style, a blend of all sorts, jazz, R&B, classical, sounds like it could be in a Disney film. Good voice makes me think of Peggy Lee and that era, my parents were big Peggy Lee fans. I think this was on a fair bit at cocktail parties :)

This'll have to tide me over until I get "Made in Japan".

Tim has answered very well, Wikipedia says "The genre of Laufey's music has been debated. She calls it jazz or jazz pop, while organisations such as National Public Radio, the New York Times, and The Sydney Morning Herald have noted that her music includes elements of jazz, pop, bossa nova, and classical, describing the entirety as traditional pop or old-time pop due to the blend of styles."
"Laufey was influenced by classical music, including Frédéric Chopin, and played it from an early age, but turned to her father's records of jazz musicians such as Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday to develop her musical style. She has cited Fitzgerald and Chet Baker as her biggest artistic influences, calling the former her favourite musician. Laufey has also cited Taylor Swift, Norah Jones, and Adele as inspirations"
She's a classic cellist, orginally, and came to prominence in Icelands Got Talent - that's the country, not the store - I shudder to think what we'd get if it was the latter!

Not played this one in ages, great album, described as “cinematic trip-hop” whatever that is!
This is starting to feel like the old days . . . Alex going fishing with albums on the hook and will Tim take the bait?
You've cost me a bloody fortune over the years young man

P.F.M. might not be your thing Alex, very early prog rock from the 70s ELP, King Crimson and Peter Sinfield era ;)
Just felt a bit proggy whilst searching for a decent LP12 plinth (another one, I found a mint one and it arrived damaged due to a combination of inadequate packing and bad UPS handling :( )

It's such a crying shame, it was a near perfect Fluted Afromosia from 1984/85, now it's just another above average one. It could be repaired by someone who knows what they're doing, but I've no experience. To be honest it's dampened my enthusiasm - every time I get close to owning an LP12, something happens to put me off. It's like the universe is trying to tell me something!

After watching "Dusty at the BBC" last night, I thought I'd give this an airing. Abbey Road half speed master, and sounding great :)

Ask any serious Top fan what is their best album they will almost always say 'Tres Hombres' or this:

I won't argue with that, but I have a soft spot for 'Eliminator':
Probably not too popular around these parts, but some good songwriting and ballads on this here album.
Yup, tis Country ya'll :sofa:

Big Sturgill Simpson fan :)
Today, I have mostly been listening to Radio Paradise, which I have not done in a very long time, but has been great, and having discovered that you can stream in FLAC quality it’s been sounding darn good too.
