I've had this since 1993, cost me £140 new. It's taken a few good knocks in its day but 26 years faithful service ain't bad. It's good to a few seconds every month usually.

However, I stopped wearing it everyday a couple of years ago because of:

A) middle age spread
B) getting a smartphone.

I eventually found my spare link and had it adjusted. However the watch just doesn't seem to hold a kinetic charge anymore. I think the battery is shot. They are £380 new now for kinetic, or about 200 for solar.

I tend buy mostly quartz watches these days. I know they don't have the soul of a nice automatic, but the accuracy and reliability are key for me. I've had mixed success with autos, the Breitling colt was very good, but a couple of years ago I had an automatic Seamaster and it was the worst time keeper I've haver had (it lost 3 or 4 mins a week), even after a service. And neither the watch or the service were particularly cheap, so that put me off. Having said that, I very recently had a Tag F1 calibre 5 auto, that was pretty good.

Yes, mines definitely 'coloured in', hairs on our arms nearly match though. What movement has yours got? Mine has an NH35A in it.

Just put mine on and yes it's 'coloured in' as well so was a trick of the light in photo. Same movement as yours.

As I change watches quite often I'm always resetting them so accuracy isn't a particular problem (I'm sure some of the cheapies - sub £20 - would be hours out by the end of the week)

I can't imagine what sort of movement you are going to get in a sub £20 watch. having said that, a mate at work puts size and make of watch as the most important factors, therefore any watch of reasonable size and budget that I was wearing was obviously a "woman's watch", so to annoy him I bought and wore the most flowery, cheapest, pinkest watch I could find, it was less than a fiver inc posting, and for the 5 or 6 months the battery lasted it was pretty spot on.

That's a perfectly good dress watch, I wonder if watches at that price point would be more popular unbranded?

Ive only just realised that my watch is a left handed watch. Which ironically means i should wear it on my right hand. I don’t though, but i do have to take it off to change the date on those odd months.... lol

I think i will look to getting this watch of mine serviced and a new capacitor. Thanks for the help

They've certainly been "inspired" by the Mondaine. It's actually not a bad looking watch, but it's a bit too cheeky to consider.

I noticed that too, I thought it added a bit of character when worn on the left wrist. Stick with it I say.

Seems to be more more lefties in the diver watches, as you can wear a computer on the left and use the dive watch on the right as a secondary.

Don't use my Apple watch, kept reminding me to breathe & telling me how long I'd been standing. Talking to your wrist when you got a call was cool though :D

That's interesting, very hard to pin down how old it is. The rating suggests new, but it's a classic looking watch.

Wore it yesterday & the matching ensemble was a French Connection khaki polo shirt, Tommy Hilfiger grey jeans & Ikon tan chelsea boots.

The Zenith carries quite a price tag. The Ingersoll is a very respectful homage.
