Hi Dimitri,

It means he's saying that headphones (and/or the amp they're connected to) aren't always good enough for revealing the often subtle differences interconnects make :)

I would tend to disagree, though.

This would be quite easy to test. I might do that one of these long winter evenings and report my findings! (Current i/cs are no-name ones bought from Maplins a few years back.)

I'm like you Marco : I disagree.
My headphones (studio + ATH-W1000) are *much* better in terms of sheer distortion etc.
No, I think the problem is rather psycho-acoustic : my ear distinguishes more easily subtle differences through room reflections than through direct sound. Or something like that. ;)

Yep - I've found that too. And I have some really quite nice Stax 'stat phones. Very strange as I percieve significant cable differences thru speakers. :scratch:
