Cor! A hell of a lot of super quality speaker drivers here. They may be for professional use, but I bet they sound fantastic. Looks as though they're going cheap. If I had the room, I'd keep quiet and buy them myself. The drive units alone are worth a small fortune second hand.

I agree. I have a pair of these in the bedroom - IMH (and underinformed)O, think they are great. they fill the room with sound, not speaker boxes (something the misses likes a lot)
I have not used them for serious critical listening. Overall they sound 'sweet' (i like sweet sound) and 'lively' or a bit 'punchy', almost like a coffee to wake you up in the morning.
I have not seen a serious critical review on the sound quality of the speakers, maybe because they just are not really serious speakers?..
Their biggest weakness, is their price, which just does not really compare to anything. A bit atmospheric - i bought mine on ebay, but still paid too much. Connectivity can be a pain too, since the amplifiers are built in, thus you need a pre-amp connection (usually in a place where you dont want another box, like a bedroom). I skipped the pre-amp for now: Apple Airport Express-> DAC -> Speakers. And it sounds really nice. volume is controlled by the Ipod (yes, not ideal).
BTW they have one other weakness. There seems to be no protection circuit, so if you connect these to an Ipod dock - you can blow them when plugging/unplugging your ipod/ipad. (yea... dont ask ;() - thats why i use an Airport Express now... alternatively a digital dock w/dac might give similar potection
Dac will be a Bushmaster with pre-amp mod when Stan has more to sell (this one moves between bedroom and main system for now). Then i think it will be a tidy little system :) Wife happily plays ALAC tracks from an Ipad, or internet radio - life is good.
B&O speakers have come a long way in recent years and the bigger models apparently stand comparison with any other expensive model out there. Obviously not for hobbyists though.
These are tempting but a tad pricey though!!
