IMO The first is elegant, the second is downright ugly. Sorry!
I agree Barry, my taste for huge watches has waned but this one is somewhat of a rarity being produced by Seiko for about two years between 2007 and 2009, its on its third strap. Because there’s no manual wind facility (only winds from wrist movement) you have to give it a few shakes before wearing, known as the ‘Seiko shuffle’.Quote:

My father passed away 9 years ago and just before my mother passed away this year she gave me my fathers watch.
He worked for the same company for over 40 years and they gave him a watch as part of his leaving package - a nice Logines La Grande Classique
Just had it cleaned and a new battery fitted and working well
