Just spent the last half hour unblocking a sink. Had to dismantle the U bend section to dislodge and remove the compacted sludge that had built up. Yuck!

Mine needs doing but I have a bottle of that drain unblocker. Two liquids that mix as you pour it, dissolves the organic waste. Easier than pissing about with the u bend and getting black crap all over you. Done that in the past, now I'd rather spend the fiver. Whatever, it is quite satisfying when it has worked and the water runs straight down the plughole again. Little victories.Quote:

We use one of these chaps: https://tapstore.com/basket-strainer...yABEgK_vPD_BwE The top section is removable, which catches any large pieces of food waste, and which you subsequently tip out and empty into the bin, allowing only liquid and the very smallest particles of waste through.
Nothing goes down our sink plug hole that's bigger than a bread crumb! Problem solved *at source*, and no more blocked sinks - happy days :cool:

Just had to throw away a pair of Ted Baker boxer shorts because the elastic in the waistband has perished.
They only lasted 19 years. I shall be writing a letter of complaint to Mr Baker, fully expressing my annoyance and frustration.
