Awful film  Made the mistake of watching 10 mins of it once, I won't get those 10 mins back.

New Year DR who special. Rumours are its a Dalek story.
Game of Thrones final season.
Season 4 of The Expanse
Yes they've been misunderstood all along. If only we had just sat down and actually listened to their concerns. It's entirely our fault that they've been terrorising the Universe all these years. Blaming them for all the indiscriminate killing they've done is both imperialist and racist. We should be ashamed. Let's give them free houses and cars!
yup, if Steve McQueen had taken the blob out to dinner instead of trying to kill it, maybe all the mayhem wouldn't have happened
You're not still watching that mince now posing as 'Dr Who'?
For me, it's utter SHITE, in comparison with the material produced in its heyday, with the final straw being the introduction of a lady Doctor (who coincidentally looks, sounds and acts like Leanne Battersby from Coronation St), in turn killing the crucial dynamic that existed between a male Doctor and lady assistant.... The story lines are juvenile, and the production all style over substance, and as such the show is but a pale shadow of its former self.
I could go on!;)
Marco.
Thanks - yeah I had a feeling it was something like that:)
Marco.
Daleks make me sick. They want everything but are not prepared to work for it, just exterminate everyone when they don't get their own way. "Give us a bungalow or a ground floor flat with wheelchair access or else!"
Now that they can "do stairs", they are everywhere. Previous doctors should have been tougher on them.
In fairness there's a lot of jobs you just wouldn't be eligible for if you had a drain plunger and an egg whisk for arms. I know they are tightening up on disability claimants and all that but I reckon if I had a plunger and an egg whisk for arms the vet would sign me off onto the club without too much deliberation.
They could get work in a kitchen - an omelette chef who can also unblock sinks must have some value. And they could teach Gordon Ramsey what angry really looks like.
Failing that there's always the army.
2 episodes of 'UFO' from 11 on Forces TV (then 3 'Hogan's Heroes' if you're up for a late one)
Forces TV is great.
That’s the one, the moonbase ladies had purple hair

What can I say? Our colour telly was shite. :(
but do collar and cuffs match?
That would be novel, and it certainly wouldn't put me off, although these days I would need some help to put me on. :(
Is that forces TV on Sky? I can't find it.
264 on my Sky box says Lifetime+1 :(
no matter, I searched UFO and got it that way, so I've recorded a shitload of them
Sorry must be out of date.
It was Roy on here who put me onto Forces TV. There's some modern rubbish on it but mostly they show proper telly. Mannix is on tonight, 2100 hrs.
The crew of Skydiver all wore string vests, men’s nipples were clearly visible but not the ladies

and the aliens would knacker shado if they attacked in groups of more than 3, moonbase only had 3 interceptors & you couldn't trust Peter Gordeno piloting Skydiver to hit a barn door :wanker: :guns:
That's what the mobiles were for. Or you could always go out on the moon's surface and have a crack at them with a bazooka. Although that usually ends badly.
What I don't understand is that SHADO is supposed to be a top secret organization but they're happy driving about the English countryside in APCs with 'SHADO' written on them in big letters.
Ah but if they had just one more interceptor to mop up that third ufo they always seem to miss they wouldn’t need any earth based defences (and Sid with his condescending voice would be redundant). Coincidentally
In one of last nights episode they let one through but the storyline ambled on and it wasn’t mentioned again (or I may have fallen asleep)
If we can go as far as New Year's Day then Luther starts up again (Season 5) (1-4 on Netflix which is recommend)

I was always wondering why the aliens don't just shoot Sid down and then the other night there was an episode I'd not seen before (despite the fact that I've been watching this show for the last forty-five years) where they do just that. Except he's only damaged not destroyed.
One thing they would not get away with now is insisting on all the female moonbase personnel having the same colour hair. In fact we recently had a bird at work come in with purple hair and they put her on a disciplinary for it. How times have changed.
I believe they tried it, but found that they sweated too much inside the uniforms.
Marco.
Were those interceptors armed with anything else apart from the one giant missile? I doubt that they had heat-seeking technology in those days, so to fly thousands of miles, then miss, must have been a right sickener. "Well that's me done, might as well bog off back to base now".
Watched an episode last night (first time in 40 years) much to Mrs. P's bemusement. "What's this crap? I bet those geeks on your forum put you up to this" was all she said before going away to wash her socks or something.
Anyway, back to the episode: IT WAS ALL A DREAM! I reckon this is where the producers of "Dallas" got their Bobby Ewing idea from.
Yes, just the one missile each it seems. As far as guidance is concerned I thought I heard ‘infra red’ mentioned but they may have been talking about the colour of the beautifully coiffured George Sewell’s hair as they stared intently at two white blips on a grey screen.
Perhaps that was the look that young men aspired to in 1980. It was the future after all.
Personally I preferred Straker's silver urban fox look. Better than Philip Schofield's Barnett, plus he was way too cool to look at the camera and say Phil's favourite line "coming up after the break".
Not keen on Straker's car though, it looks like someone dropped a giant crate onto FAB 1.
Re the missiles: In earlier episodes they have nuclear warheads and don't need to make a direct hit to destroy the UFO, the blast being enough, but in later episodes it does seem that they actually have to hit the thing to blow it up.
So only having 3 interceptors did make sense originally. I'd guess they didn't have a 'bible' or if they did the scriptwriters just ignored it and no-one cared.
The interceptors were only armed with one missle, SkyDiver had multiple missles available as each Sky had two pods on each wing and weapons mounted just front of the pilot cabin. Not sure about the Mobile units, if I recall right each one had its own particular weapons configuration.
The models in Space1999 were originally to be part of a second series of UFO, to be called UFO 1999 but that didn't happen and Space 1999 was created. So Eagles, and Hawks would have been the space hardware used against the alien craft.
Sure UFO has its flaws, as does the second season of Space 1999 but these series I loved as a kid and despite seeing those flaws more easily as an adult I still enjoy watching both series.
Both programmes qualify as 'proper telly'. Just a shame they don't seem to understand how to make entertainment like that anymore. Its either got to have some idiotic PC message running through it like a stick of rock or it tries to be too clever for its own good. Or both.
I want to see "Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea" return.
They had some real adventures. And the episode with the giant whale and the one with the squid, absolute classics. And Seaview was so well engineered, it didn't matter how badly damaged it got you just had to turn some wheels and the leaks were instantly fixed. They don't build 'em like that any more!
Was watching Ironside the other night. Was never that keen on it back in the day (it was always called 'Ironsides' in Liverpool for some reason) but compared to modern shows it's pretty good.
