No they were actually BNC plugs. I never thought to ask what other equipment had come from that particular house clearance. I only have about 100 records in Spain currently and the plan is to start carrying records over on each flight I do from the UK. I've done about 1500 cd's in hand luggage over the last 18 months so not looking forward to a similar number of records. :lol:Quote:

long time since I have contributed to this forum (missing Marco), I thought that I would have a look to see if there were any updates on the man, saw this thread and couldn’t resist:
I have had my LP12 for about 35 years. Pre Cirkus model, bought the Ittok about 5 years later (second hand), removed baseboard, replaced Valhalla with a Heed Orbit when the Valhalla burnt out, it has had a couple of services, I fitted a “blue belt” and gave it an oil change about two years ago, just bought a new 10x5 mkII and a felt mat (new one fits :dance:).
I still love it and consider that it has been great value for money. Blue belt was well worth while, but most of my recent system changes have been around amplification - Art Audio - Quintet power amp and Vinyl 1 phono stage.
The old “pre Cirkus” has been more than good enough to allow me to appreciate how good the amplifiers are - happy bunny here.
PS - I also think that it looks “right”

I like the 'all black' look of your LP12.
I have no idea what the "blue belt" is, but I assume it is an upgrade on the original belt. As always if you are pleased with what you have, then sit back and enjoy the music. :)
“Blue belt”, supplied by Mike Pickwell (Pickwell Audio). Quite a lot on pinkfish about it - made my LP12 sound more “steady/solid/confident?” Not sure if “confident” is a hifi term, but i know what I mean :)Quote:

Absolutely right about sticking with what you have if you are happy - I haven’t any intention of major purchases in the future, just consumables (valves/cartridge when needed) and more records when I hear something which grabs my attention. Currently going back in time to increase my old blues records.
Actually, I told a porky there. I am about to sell off a few bikes and bits and pieces to fund a record cleaner purchase - Humminguru looks interesting.

It's up against my lightly modded SL1500C - KAB damper, Achromat, RigB 540ML.
Better? No, just different. The Technics trounces it with drive and metronome accuracy. The Linn has more depth and breadth to the soundstage and more body overall. The susceptibility to footfall still irks - the Techie is almost immune. I want to try the Taica mushrooms in the Sondek, and see how that sounds. As an object I still think they are one of the best looking decks out there - something about the proportions look 'right' to me in a way that few others do, and with a silver Ittok - be still my beating heart. But I will, most likely, end up selling it on and sticking with the no-fuss SL. It just works...
