Thanks Allen, I'm really quite excited to hear it, from what SQ has written about them they are a quality phono stage
Alan
Very lovely setup you have there. You make me feel like getting an r2r but my wife would kill me. Hahhah
costerdock
LOL
No kidding a good calibrated R2R is class and blows everything else away ;), I have 5 at home and one to pick up from a recent ebay purchase Revox PR99 mk2, wife will also say WTF when she finds out :D
I would love a studer 812
Alan
Yes good idea, looks like yours is getting the royal treatment from Simon who has probably built more of these than anyone else id imagine.
Mine is pretty standard but I am still expecting it to be a big step up from what I have now and I think my Kontrapunkt B still has more to offer with the right loadings.
BTW didn't you have a Cadenza? Black what did you think of that ?.
Alan
Great thread and pictures :)
The Batteries where a bargain for £3.
It would be a good idea to fit a fuse on both of those batteries, all it needs is a pair of inline fuse holders and a few crimp terminals.

They are near wood that burns well and no fuse could be a problem if there was a fault.

Alan is The Man!!!!!!:)
It will be a big step up, have you read the review I posted? It makes for interesting reading. This new 4box version has a few more tweeks compared to Simons version. I do indeed have a Cadenza black, it's excellent the best cart I have ever owned and was used in the review I did of the paradise phonostage.
