The last line is interesting.
Who knows where the law stands with electric pushbikes?
When driving home earlier we were doing 30-35mph down a road when a bicycle ridden by some hoodie scrote overtook us doing at least 40, overtook the car in front of us, found himself heading straight for a traffic island so tore past it on the other side of the road. There was no car coming in the opposite direction at that moment, unfortunately.
Surely this can't be right?
Edit: Just seen Geoff's link on another thread. So this fast moving scumbag is clearly outside of the law and all we can hope is that if the the cops don't catch up with him, karma will.
15.5 mph is the legal speed limit.
Loads of illegal higher powered eBikes about and privately owned eScooters. There's no policing!
My bike will indicate higher speeds on the 'dash', but it is compliant spec.
(just bought another conversion kit in case anybody here wants to ride along, fifty quid used bike with £350 conversion kit, cheap way to zoom about :))
Does look like fun, but walking is the only exercise I get.
I have to say I'm tempted, but really the house and garage is already full of stuff that's not getting used.
The sellers of high performance electric bikes evade the law by selling them for off road use only. That’ll do it, then!
