That really put a smile on my face and made me laugh . . . I 100% agree. Could almost be an Oscar Wilde quote.

Which looks better?
This:
or this:
(Apologies for the poor quality of the photos, it's difficult to do it one handed.)
No competition :)
That's silver, it has to be gold.
Agreed - gold would be better, but IMO, a leather strap would look better still.
Alex was considering this silver watch to be worn with a DJ:

Well, Barry,
I don’t know if I should be honoured that you got dressed up in your tux to very ably demonstrate and prove your point, but I’m more concerned with what Happy thought when you put on your best bib and tucker, and how let down she must have been when you told her it was just for the forum!
Bravo, though, well done!
Well at the moment she is 3,000 miles away in Cameroon, seeing her mother. If she had been here I could have taken better photos.
Don't worry, I only changed into a white double cuff shirt and the jacket, not the full shebang.
Phew!
Another point of etiquette, whether there's a rule for it or not I don't know, but I always make sure cuff links match the watch - so gold watch, gold cuff links, silver watch silver cuff links. (Certainly makes your (lovely) Rolex look even more out of place in your second photo.)
Yes, I would go along with that.
I'm just not keen on leather straps of any colour. And I've only got gold cufflinks. :)
