Couple of bits

Well it's cost me nothing Grant & I may invest in other speakers anyway if the Goldenears don't work out (the money I got for the Tannoys remains earmarked as a speaker fund so I don't spend it on watches).

The carpet's more or less recovered on it's own. It was fitted throughout the house when I moved in almost twenty years ago & is much better quality than I would have purchased. When I think of what it's had to endure over the years (I used to have four dogs) I'm amazed how good it still looks.

There’s a centre click where I’ll start from , it was ‘quarter past’ dialled in for the bedroom, bit bass heavy downstairs.

Yes, no discernible difference Al.

Thanks for that, how far into the room is the optimum? I can re-jig the room a little.

In my situation speakers are 3m apart and i am seated 3.2m from my speakers. They are around 80cm away from the wall. Also toe in in which the speakers cross behind the head. But this is based on carefully listening a lot. Check the website from Goldenear and your manuaal bec speaker placement is very important.
