Oh no, an electrically heated bogseat is just wrong, it would feel like it has been recently vacated, something I avoid at all costs. The important thing with toilet seat longevity is decent hinges, and lightweight plastic seats never have them

Lol.... Well, nothing is difficult to clean if you clean it properly and often enough!;)

Our loo seat, like the rest of the loo and bathroom (along with other key areas of the house) are cleaned daily - my job:)

I wonder what you would think of all the other extras of Japanese loos: calming music played whilst you go through the motions (presumably to mask 'embarrassing noises), and bidet-style douche water jets carefully aimed at your derriere afterwards?
