I was aware of the Tannoys, (and the delay) but I didn't know you were expecting them imminently, I bet you can't wait! I've read (many time now) the DAC is easily bettered, but it's surely hard to beat the Oppo as a transport at anything near the same price?
Just get the longest length you need and chop to suit.
Exactly what is this 'long term project' Marco? Is it use with your Ditton 15s? Or is it a 'backup' for the Copper amp/Tannoy Lockwoods?
Indeed... Although it'd still be nice not to have to do that and have them finished in the right size:)
Thought you might've commented on my Lentek mods... The aim is to get this one even better than the one I sold you!;)
Yes, Martin should be excited about getting his Tannoys, as he'll now for the first time ever, own some PROPA speakers!! Eh, Marty-boy?:ner::D;)
Marco.
Both, Barry (depending on how the mood takes me), as I have the facility to listen to both sets of speakers with the same sources and electronics in different rooms!;)
More than likely though, the 'Quads' will partner the Celestions downstairs, but will 'live' upstairs in the hi-fi/music room.

I don't know about the subjective reviews of the DAC but it is one of the best measuring DACs you can buy. The Oppo sounds no different as a transport to a Pioneer DVD player I got for nothing.
All a big mystery really, but I am thinking that the speakers might have a fault, caps or ferrofluid maybe. Hence waiting for the Tannoys.
