Back to the Future (1985) starring Michael J Fox and Chris Lloyd. Robert Zemeckis's classic start of the trilogy of time travel is probably still the best of the 3.
Universal Pictures head Sid Sheinberg did not like the title "Back to the Future", insisting that nobody would see a movie with "future" in the title. In a memo to Robert Zemeckis, he said that the title should be changed to "Spaceman From Pluto", tying in with the Marty-as-alien jokes in the film, and also suggested further changes like replacing the "I'm Darth Vader from planet Vulcan" line with "I am a spaceman from Pluto!" Sheinberg was persuaded to change his mind by a response memo from Steven Spielberg, which thanked him for sending a wonderful "joke memo", and that everyone got a kick out of it. Sheinberg, too proud to admit he was serious, gave in to letting the film retain its title.
'No Country for Old Men' on 4 shortly. Wicked movie!

Fabulous and moving account of Dunkirk, seen from the eyes of those trapped on the beaches and those who aided them - those who piloted the little ships - mostly civilians.
Having spoken with a guy who served as a volunteer and was among those last to get off the beaches I personally find this film more difficult to watch at times, than I did before speaking with him.

Good film that. restoration is reasonable but the reflections in places show the problems in some types of lighting.

Heavens Above(1963) starring peter sellers cecil parker eric sykes and the very underrated brock peters as mathew.
Steve Marriott of the small faces is in it as a youngster too.lol. it won a BAFTA for Cinematography.

Carry on at Your Convenience (1971)..... A tale of industrial strife at WC Boggs' Lavatory factory. Vic Spanner is the union rep who calls strikes at the drop of a hat, much to the workforces chagrin. They all come back for the works outing though....sounds familiar. :lol:
The usual crew along with Kenneth Cope, Patsy Rowlands, Geoff Hughes and Bill Maynard make up the cast and Jacki Piper adds the glamour

to wind up the night I'm going to watch The Life And Death Of Col Blimp (1943) .... Roger Livesey, Deborah Kerr and Anton Walbrook star in Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger's masterpiece WW2 propaganda film. This is the fully restored Blu- Ray version and a stunning copy it is. One of my favorite films of any generation.

Cheating I know but this review from an Amazon purchaser sums it up for me:
You'll have to excuse me but I'm going to be one of those bores who say "it isn't as good as the book". Being a bit of a weighty tome the book was always going to be a bit tricky to translate onto the screen and this adaptation suggests that a lot of the original scenes were cut out. If I hadn't read the novel, and therefore known the plot, I would have been thinking to myself "what the hell's going on" at the start of the film. That aside, it's still a marvellous story and Ralph Fiennes and Cate Blanchett provide almost the same Oscar and Lucinda that my imagination had conjured up. The main reason why I've marked the film down is that the original ending has been changed. We are let down gently rather than having to suffer the full force of life's injustice slapped across our face. A compromise has been made to cater for a crowd pleasing (fairly) happy ending.
Despite the leading actors, both of whom I greatly admire, I’m only giving it 5/10. It could well go back to the charity shop.

Blakes 7 season 1. Ah, Servalan! Must be one of the first TV shows to have the baddie played by a woman. She does it so well too!
Another memorable character is, of course, Avon. So droll! Blake, on the other hand, is rather forgettable.
