Starting the morning with some Sting from 1988 and the classic album The Dream of the Blue Turtles. This is the Original Master Recording pressing which is very crisp with deep rumbling bass. Featuring Branford Marsalis on Soprano and Tenor saxophone clarinet and percussion plus an appearance by Eddy Grant on congas ! Mastered by the legendary Bob Ludwig at Masterdisk NY.

Next up a great live album from the sadly missed British rocker Gary Moore, this album leaves you in no doubt about Moore's awesome ability on the guitar, Moore was heavily associated with Peter Green's famed 1959 Gibson Les Paul guitar which was sold to him by Peter Green for around £100. The guitar, nicknamed "Greeny", is known for its unusual tone, the result of a reversed neck pickup. Moore used the guitar for most of his career (most notably on "Parisienne Walkways"), until he sold it in 2006 for somewhere between $750,000 and $1.2 million !
Rockin' Every Night - Live in Japan recorded in 1983 on the Corridors of Power tour but not released in Europe until 1986. A favourite track is a great cover of Free's Wishing Well.
The venue was the Shinjuku Kousei Nenkin Hall, Tokyo and Gary is accompanied by a list of legends:

Neil Davidge has worked with Bowie, Massive Attack, Liz Fraser, and Primal Scream among many others. This does have a bit of a "Mezzanine" sound about it.
Quite rare apparently, which is nice.
I used to have that. I lent it to my brother in 2001 so he'd have something to play at his housewarming party, and the case came back with a Shirley Bassey disc in it. Probably thought I wouldn't notice. The correct disc was never seen again.Quote:

Bought some cracking LPs last week off ebay, mint condition. Carla Bley - social studies, which is a great LP, no one else bidded, why I don;t know. And some rather smooth jazz, in the form of Joe Sample from the 90s!! It's good though. A few more ECM LPs on the way, must be my fave label at the minute.
