On Saturday went to the Hacienda Revival at the Mayfield Depot in Manchester.
Fantastic - the last act we saw was the Hacienda Classic and they were awsome :)
Recently, The Doors Alive. Last year, Steve Hackett and Rufus Wainwright. In between several Classical concerts at BBC Maida Vale and Saffron Hall, Essex

Essentially a beautiful old church!:)
Some pics before the supporting act came on 'The Magpies' (a 3-piece girl folk band who were really good):

Was a good night at an excellent venue!
Marco.
Got one of his. Looks like an intimate setting.
Churches often sound great
Yeah, the acoustics were great, mate. Love intimate venues like that for gigs. And aside for being a talented singer and guitar player, he has a great way of interacting with his audience. Plus, I love how he quite often ends with this song, which is my favourite:

So unique and just stunning to watch live!

yeah its a good one that... alas on his debut album i think and hard to find at a reasonable price. been meaning to explore more of his stuff but not got round to it as yet
Yup, it's on 'The fox and the Monk' album. I've got it on CD, but you can easily access it via the likes of Tidal.
He was selling CD and vinyl versions of his albums last night, so picked up a couple. Always like to leave a gig having bought some music from the performer(s) concerned. Sounded great on the way home too, through the car hi-fi system:)
In fact it was quite funny before we went into the gig, we were playing John Smith albums in the car, quite loudly, and folks going past on the way to the gig kept trying to see through the blackened windows of the Brabster who was inside, as they could hear the music, which sounded really good... I think they must've thought it was John Smith inside having a practice sesh!:D
Marco.
Not doing tidal etc these days. Just my own music. I will keep an eye open for a reasonably priced copy tho
Ah, didn't know that mate... Btw, how do you post videos you've taken with a smartphone onto the forum?
Del did a video of JS performing last night, but when she emails me it, there's nothing there, probably because the file size is too big... So how do I get the video she's taken on here phone posted here?:)
Don't want to use YouTube or anything like that.
Marco.
