These look unusual: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/loudspeake...item2594c4c9b7
I remember those. Based on Goodmans drivers originally then they started using foreign tweeters & mids if I recall. Supposed to sound quite nice. There was a bloke in Ealing about thirty years ago who assembled them and sold them from a shop there. Not sure what he had to do with Radford though.
- Just noticed over 3000 posts
... Think I need a holiday from hifi :bog:
They are a squared frame version of the bass unit used in the Mezzo, which had a bi-radial frame front. The Radford is not vinyl skinned as per most Goodmans bass drivers of the time, it is doped. I believe it is very similar to the Achromat 400 bass unit, as may be the midrange. They even used an ABR derivative in the Dimension 8.
(and I do recall Cooper Smith)
These are the Goodmans bass units I've usually seen in Radford 180's

Blimey, you remember Cooper Smith, it was a good amp, the Prodigy, but only mono.
Alex:
Mail me i aint heard anything from you for a bit..
Really good amps these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Technics-s...item3ce775b637
Worth £200 all day long IMO.
Lol! They are 16kg & all metal... Dual mono construction with potted transformers, this is "proper" :eyebrows:

All I know is I'd be on the way to pick it up now if I lived nearer Scouseland :)
Charity shop NS-1000M - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Excellent-...cb639#viTabs_0
"In very good to excellent condition. Has been fully PAT & function tested and is in good working order."
How does one PAT test a speaker ? Play the postman Pat theme tune through it ?
Nice! Just round the corner from Marco too. ;)
These Tannoy Caernarvons are rare and very nice. They use a low resonance version of the SRM10 driver.
Reckon they'll fetch a bob or two.

In South West London.
Nice! :)
Marco.
This little lot must sound 'wonderful'!

Yes, but I’ve got too many speakers already (Celestion 66s, 15XRs and Lockies). I’d simply have nowhere to put them.
Marco.
Just spotted these rather nice seventies Pioneer speakers. Bet they sound nice. If they were nearer I'd be after them!

Cheap reasonable sounding DAC. Not the last word in resolution, but does nothing offensive (nice and small too). OK for the money!

Two items of high end Japanese turntable wonderfulness (and, yes, I'm speaking from experience as I own one of each!)
Sony TTS-8000:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SONY-TTS-8...item19f305de83
Aiwa LP-3000: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aiwa-LP-30...item23401c7a20
The strobe issue with the Sony is highly likely to be nothing more than the links connecting the two sides of the double-sided control PCB needing some re-soldering - the strobe lamp on my own deck was originally non-working for this exact reason. The Aiwa is a bit more complex but contains nothing rare or unobtainable and I can provide a copy of the service manual, so who's up for the challenge?! ;)
Having heard quite a few seventies Japanese speakers from the likes of Pioneer, Sansui, JVC and Panasonic/Technics, etc., I'm not convinced these Pioneers would be rubbish. That horn tweeter was pretty good and I've heard the 12" bass driver model with it, probably the next up in the range and it sounded decent enough to me. Back then, Japanese speakers had a slightly different and livlier balance to the rather constrained sound of British 'Bextrene' coned models of the time (yes I know not all used Bextrene).

Looks very nice :)
Very nice Technics SL-1800 DD turntable. Not quite an SL-1200, but not far short. I had a new one years ago and it's a good TT. Fine quality and very fair price!

Decent looking pair of KEF 'C' Series Concerto speakers. These are the better late ones, with the proud T27 dome and soft rubber B139 surrounds. Nice punchy speakers.

Rare Cabasse 9.5" full range, paper coned drivers, 100db sensitivity, 5.8 ohms. They look superb. Lovely!

In France. Priced very sensibly too.
And here is the 12" bass driver version I mentioned yesterday. In France. Asking price £635!!!

Never seen these before, don't know if they are a bargain:

Vintage GIP (WE) tweeters from the US. Only £3089 (so far).

Bet these go to the far east!
Studio Power MC700 loudspeakers! These are rare speakers, I owned a pair for several years in the early 'nineties. Not as good as they look I'm afraid but still a lot of speaker for the money. Need a powerful amp:
