We have a few of those - not sure you will be as big a Zappa fan as one of our mods, Chris (The Grand Wazoo) - just how gig are you? I've not met Chris personally, but legend has it he's 6'11" and nearly 30 stone! ;)

Joe was taken to so i had Joey! simple really
My user name relates to one of my favourite tracks.... Pink Floyd's The Great Gig in the Sky. Performed well it can reduce me to tears - I also go to too many gigs!
Been using it awhile now in many different forums, so thought I would stick with it here. Floyd fans may know me by it elsewhere :)
I am Philippe and new joining.
I am currently living in Hong Kong but originally from France were I have lived only for 5 years during the last 20 years.
I am an analog addict and I have been listening almost exclusively to LP's or FM since the last 10 years.
I have recently fallen in love with a denon 103 pro when i mounted it on a AT LH18 heavy headshell that i have just bought in Tokyo.
I have at the same time put my integrated Audiomat Opera Signature integrated on a sound mechanics rather cheap chinese platform and the amp has relaxed a lot since then and sound far more natural and almost as detailed and fast.
Voila
Mine's from a jovial slur aimed at me by my metalhead chum when I owned up to having a couple of Skyclad CDs in the mid-1990s.
I've never let him forget it.
Hi, handle is from an past girl friend that maintained a long distant email relationship (she was in Dubai and I was located in West Coast of Canada). Kinda stuck.
After reading many articles on this website and having a hoot watching the friendly discord take place amongst the regulars, I surmised this is the place to be for all that's right!
So, I have joined initially to garner some insight and wisdom from the inmates on a current problem, and will hopefully be able to share in what little I know or understand in the future.
Thank you,
Jim Anderson

Hi Jim,
Not sure if I have welcomed you in person, if not then I apologise.
Looks like you've got a 'handle' on what a friendly forum this is: populated by (mostly) harmless nutters who (again mostly) love to chat about music and the best means by which to hear it.
(Oh and we like to talk about "sex, drugs and rock and roll" as well!)
Regards
mine's really dull...MG are my initials and this is a tag i've used on various astronomy forums. In astronomy there is a series of visible objects called the messier catalogue and each object in the series is numbered sequentially, M1, M2...etc. so I just picked that up and picked MG1.
Hello...wake up...okay I'll get my coat!
:ner:
Nice to see another amateur astronomer on here :)
This one is quite self explanatory :¬)
Yoga = unity. I have a habit of spending hours/days/weeks/months/years researching the nature of consciousness/quantum physics/cosmology/philosophy.
Space guys, if you have an iPad, grab Redshift, seriously kickass :¬)
cosey man , its the name from a boiler manufacturer one of their models in the pressure jet range , i used to do some work on them one time , there were a good few around the area , & my other half at the time thought how funny it would be for an email name .
jim
i was an audio tech in the 70's and am back at it i'm also a snowboard instructor
Slippershod is the name for an, ahem, power trio project that's supposed to be getting underway with a couple of chums in london...
if I have my way, we'll be doing things like covers of the 'theme from black beauty'.
I thought my name up because I played ice hockey, I am certainly older than a boy, but icehockeyman didn't sound quite right.
It seems (playing hockey) is in my blood, my dad was a pro, he even had a trial back in the day with the Detroit Redwings, and my son went on the frozen stuff with a stick aged 4.
Jt = my initials
On the bike = wish I was out cycling and not having to work for a living!
Hi btw ;o)
Fairly simple... Name of my business
Mine is so completely boring. Ladies and gents, I give you the W. O. Stanton CS100 phono cartridge. Too bad I don't own one.
(Some reviewers have said it fails to best the 881; so, no big loss, I guess. But hey, it's black and gold. That's gotta count for something!)

I collect ornamental lathes - bit like my current system, more decorative than state of art.
It's coz I'm a Plastiscene dog. ;)
Seriously - comes from when I was building my Caterham 7 back in '97. Every day I went into work it was 'how's your nuts bolts and grommets?' Also, when I smile I look a little bit like Gromit apparently.
enjoy all things hifi and video, can't stop improving things, nice to see a bunch of lunatics like myself.hope all my years of experience can help in any way.
Sorry, too long to explain. Suffice to say, it normaly puts a smile on the faces of the Ladies! :eyebrows:
mine is my car reg (private plate)
S 70 RMP
I used to follow Manchester Storm
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manchester_Storm
so I got a S70RM reg plate and the P is for Paul
And I thought it would be something to do with the Canon S70.
British Ice hockey eh. Another import from the rulers of the world? (Sorry, suppose that should be Hollywood Wives).
Wot everyone calls me (although the 104 is just a random number and people don't us it when they call me :))
That's pretty convoluted. The best personalised number plate I have ever seen was 4 KOF frequently seen around Hagley (West Midlands).
He must have been a cough medicine salesman but how he got it past DVLC will forever be a mystery.
I won't bother explaining my name, since I'm actually called Richard and live in Uttar Pradesh.
My sister and her husband have ORN8 and ADL1B things like this go for silly prices now.
I have N1 MWT but I subsequently discovered that D1 MWT was available. Shame - I could have been 'dimwit'.
Paul Daniels has MAG1C which is pretty cool, even for someone who's plate might more aptly be PEN15 ;)
Which airline captain has P1 LOT? I think it was offered to Branson.
I saw MU 1 or 1 MU (can't remember) the other day - it was on a coach - and nothing to do with the football team as far as I could tell.
Thay plate actually exists. Sort of!
PEN1S belongs to ex mororcycle racer Steve Parish. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Parrish I saw it once on his Merc at Ally Pally! :)
Hi everyone, i'm from London and been interested in Hi Fi for some time. At the moment I'm running a Musical Fidelitey amp and Sugden A21 SE Cd player match with Celestion Ditton 66's.

Hi, I'm john and Jake is my dog.
Through all my adventures with a soldering iron he has patiently laid at my side.
But has gradually learnt to "disappear" at he crucial point of plugging the "repaired " equipment in.
Can't think why, It's generally not a loud bang and not too much smoke.:)
Haha, funny how a dog picks up on that stuff :)
Mine knows when things aren’t going as well as they might be and goes and lies in the hall with one slightly concerned eye on the progress. Switch on time and he’s by the door looking anxiously at the fire blanket :lolsign:
Even weirder how most females don’t know when to not ask you how its going and mention you're burning a hole in the carpet :steam:
My current girlfriend has it better sorted and tells me “I’ll come back when you’ve broken it shall I?”
Its an abbreviation for my name, Douglas, used by my wife and also my 4 year old daughter.
Well Mine is an Anagram of my Name Rewind Fishwalk = Wilfred Hawkins :)
