Any more details of independent record shops, chaps? :)
Marco.
Action Records in Preston:
http://www.actionrecords.co.uk/
One of the largest independents in the UK, apparently. A fair selection of new vinyl but loads of 2nd hand at good prices - tricky to browse those unless you like kneeling down!
The website allows you to browse everything including the used stock. Knowledgeable staff.
I'm not sure if it's still open, but , Barnstorm Records in Dumfries used to be very, very good with a huge stock of 2nd hand vinyl - over a 3 year period a few years back, Gordon, who ran the shop relieved me of unfeasible quantities of cash as I used to buy his very reasonably priced records in huge quantities!
Found a good 'un in Huddersfield (of all strange places to find a good vinyl supply), 'Wall of sound records'. Keen prices, good service and they care about their vinyl. Big stock and they are on the web - www.wallofsound-records.com
Well worth checking out if you're in the area (or not if ou want to try their web service)
Heres the link to Rubber Soul which I neglected to post before
http://www.rubbersoulrecords.co.uk/
Thanks for that, Martin.
It's not a million miles away from me, so I'll pop down at some point, and perhaps pass by chez-toi for some tea and biccies on the way back up the road :)
Marco.
Cheers, Martin. If I don't, I'll get it from you when I know I'm coming :)

Spillers Records in Cardiff, which I think is the oldest independent record shop in the World.
I wish I could use it more, but some years ago Cardiff City Council sold all OUR car parks to NCP and now we have some of the highest parking charges in the UK.
PS public transport in this city is a JOKE.
