Yes I have ordered a copy too. Extraordinary LP. Totally agree with Marco that it is possibly the best recording I have heard, regardless of genre.
I will be purchasing other RR label LP's.
That LP was such a delight on your Techy Marco, with the DH1. I had my doubts regarding the expense of your Ortofon arm when you first fitted it, but they were disspelled on hearing the Techy on Saturday. It is a truely inspiring turntable now. I still adore the 401 in slate, but just goes to show how good a well sorted 1210 can be.
Glad you enjoyed listening to the Techy, Dom. I'm really happy with it now and doubt I'll be taking it much further. The Mike New platter was the icing on the cake, and has really improved its ability to add musical insight.
The Ortofon arm is a very neutral sounding device, and in my experience, simply allows the partnering cartridge to shine, which I'm sure you'll agree was both the case with the DH1 and SPU :)
I really hope that you do well with the DH1, and that it gets the recognition it deserves, as you have created something truly special.
Marco.
Techy praise Dom? What's happening? :)
The only thing that needs doing to Marcos pride and joy is a good dust and some black isonoe feet, oh and a decent cartridge
Seriously it is a splendid device and a firm 2 fingers up to all who take the piss out of Techy's and the amount of up-grades people do.
Yes, those 45rpm Reference Recordings are good. I have some:
Berlioz – ‘Symphonie Fantastique’ (RR-11)

'Dafos' (RR-12)

Now this is a real test record designed to test out your system. There is one track where Grateful Dead’s Mickey Hart picks up a drum and throws it down to the ground; there are not many systems that can easily cope and correctly reproduce the crash.
But despite that, I would be reluctant to say any recording is the best ever in any genre.
Please note the phrase 'I have heard'
Im sure there are many more gems I hope I will get to hear throughout my lifetime.
