My little Suzuki was dropped off for attention to the spongy brakes and a new alternator belt earlier. Only a five minute walk away.
I have been looking at my battery usage over the last few months. I use less battery coming in to work than the journey home.
This morning it was cold, almost freezing, but I only used 5% more battery than normal.
So far, I have averaged 1.7l/100km (166mpg) since buying the car. With the fuel prices today, I am pretty happy with that.
Yes, I think it is the elevation. May also be slightly less traffic on the way back, so you can drive quicker, using more power.
The interesting bit is that the range is closer to 40km than the claimed 56, but that was expected.
