The Tissot was a previous birthday present from wife, so it has some sentimental value but i have no intention of throwing good money after bad - mechanical watches for me from now on.
The Tissot replaced a Le Cheminant wind up which i have mislaid. I spent most of yesterday looking for the Le Cheminant to no avail. I am sure it is in the house somewhere and will turn up when least expected.
Your Tissot is a handsome looking watch. I would at least get a quote for its repair.
Thanks Barry I do love it: it’s just that repair quote from local dealer where watch was bought (involved sending it back to Tissot) was over £250 - had better quote from fixmywatch but some reviews were rather worrying.Quote:

Just took in pocket watch for asssessment of service cost, so will see how that goes (and carry on looking for my Le Cheminant :))
EDIT - thanks again @Barry, just checked on Tissot and they offer full diagnostic/repair starting at £105 so hopefully it will be worthwhile after all. Seems my local dealer may be a little greedy. :doh:
